Sophia is a passionate privacy professional with a decade of privacy experience both as a practitioner and consultant. Sophia's in-depth knowledge of privacy regulations, and proven ability to deliver effective privacy solutions make her an invaluable asset to organizations seeking expert guidance in privacy, risk management and compliance.
Specializing in privacy program development and implementation for the Federally Regulated Private Sector and Crown corporations, Sophia is a passionate advocate of Privacy by Design. Her previous tenure in the financial services industry allowed her to collaborate closely with business and compliance stakeholders, employing a risk-based approach to develop practical privacy solutions that meet legal requirements, business needs, and regulatory expectations. Sophia's expertise extends to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that support compliance and align with business objectives. She has successfully led the expansion of privacy training programs fostering understanding, awareness, and collaboration across the organization.
Sophia is proficient in privacy automation and customization of GRC tools for Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA), personal information inventories, data mapping, consent management, DSARs, as well as breaches and incidents. She has led strategic governance engagements, program operationalization, monitoring and testing as well as privacy risk assessments and vendor assessments.
Sophia possesses extensive expertise in operationalizing Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) from a customer journey perspective. She excels in providing expert guidance to business teams regarding privacy and compliance requirements, and she has a proven track record of leading complex projects and assignments while fostering cross-functional, collaborative relationships with business and technology partners.
